Baby Needs a New Pair of Shoes!

I got into a little bidding war on Ebay this morning . . . on behalf of the baby. :) Here's the story- I've been looking for months for girl crib bedding (just in case it was a girl!), and hadn't found any that I truly loved until this weekend when I found this (minus the wall hangings):

The material is pink Toile, gingham, and polka dots. There was a glitch on the company's website, however, and I wasn't able to buy it. So, when their customer service department opened yesterday, I called them. Turns out that they're not going to carry that bedding anymore, and their website was the only place I could find it! The customer service representative was nice, and she told me that their company is selling their remaining lot of the bedding on Ebay. The starting bid was 99 cents, and the auction ended this morning at 10:15. Simple enough . . . except that I had to take Biscuit to the vet at 9:30! Brendon had a work engagement, so I had to get Mama to do the bidding for me.

As I was walking her through the process of how to bid and how high to go, the whole process struck me as so funny. It took a lot of phone calls between me, Brendon, and Mama to hash out the details. It was like we were on Wall Street or a casino in Las Vegas, bidding so passionately for . . . crib bedding! I guess it's true that you'll do anything for your child!

Luckily, I returned home from the vet at 10:00, relieving Mama of her post as bidder. When the auction ended, Baby Girl and I won the auction, scoring the bedding for 1/3 of the retail cost of the bedding on the company's website! Yes, Baby Girl and I are very Scottish! Now we'll anxiously await our shipment so we can start assembling the pink nursery. As Shelby said in the movie "Steel Magnolias", "Pink is my signature color!" (She later went on to explain the colors of her wedding: "My colors are 'blush' and 'bashful'", to which her mother replied, "Her colors are 'pink' and pink'".)

I love it! You're a fierce, protective mama already!! I know who to get to buy things on eBay for me, now!
