Two years ago on Halloween we found out that we were having a girl (click here and here to read about it). Last year Maggie dressed up as a ladybug, and we carried her through the neighborhood. This year Maggie was old enough to walk through the neighborhood. We didn't really want her to get candy, so we just took her to see the neighbors we know to show them her costume. Along the way, she loved seeing other children's costumes and didn't get scared at all. People still gave her candy, so by the last house, Maggie was reaching into the candy bowl herself and saying, "more!" She also liked reaching into the bowl of candy we were giving out and putting the Tootsie pops in her pumpkin (even though she's never had one)!
Usually Maggie rides in the stroller when I walk Biscuit. On Halloween, though, she had "free reign", not buckled in the stroller. Several times on our walk, she walked to the grass beside the road, squatted, and said "poop!", imitating what Biscuit does on our walks! Maggie does not miss a beat- she sees and hears everything!
