On Thursday we had our much anticipated anatomy scan ultrasound. I had no feelings one way or the other whether it was a girl or boy. After the ultrasound technician assessed that the baby was healthy and measuring on track, she told us that it's a boy! We are thrilled! Here are a few of his precious pictures:
We waited until Brendon got home from work that night to tell Maggie. We let her open a present to the baby from my mom that had a blue bow and blue tissue paper in it. We asked her to figure out the "clues" about what the baby is. When she pulled out the baby boy outfit, she grinned and said, "It's a baby boy!"
The next day she was in her old nursery. Without me even mentioning the baby, she picked up one of her dolls in the room and said, "I'll take this. Boys don't need dolls!" I'm so glad that so far she isn't upset about the new addition or him getting her old room.
About two weeks ago I started feeling the baby kick a little. The other day I let Maggie try to feel his kicks. I'm not sure if she felt anything, but it made an impression on her. A few days later I was lying in her bed with her as she fell asleep. I had my arm outstretched, and she was lying on it. I could feel the pulse in my arm beating, and so could she. She looked at me and said, "I feel the baby kicking in your arm!"
