God is Great, God is Good

A month or so ago on the way to church, I was trying to entertain Maggie in the backseat. I showed her the hand motions for "Here is the church, here is the steeple, open the doors and see all the people." She loved it and immediately began imitating it. One night at supper she spontaneously started making her "church" to get us to bless the meal! Now before every meal if I forget to say the blessing, Maggie will clasp her hands together and look at me until I say, "God is great. Amen!" We call Maggie the "blessing police" because if one of us gets up from the table to get something and then sits back down, she makes her church to get us to say the blessing again. Maggie has generalized her praying to other situations, too. One day I sneezed and said, "Bless me!" and she immediately clasped her hands together like she was praying for me. It was so sweet. God is definitely great for giving us Maggie!
