1. Maggie is obsessed with trying on shoes now . . . her shoes, my shoes, her cousins' shoes, etc. She does pretty well walking in big shoes! As seen in the picture above, Maggie likes the pink Crocs her cousin passed down to her.2. Maggie knows her anatomy and can identify her eyes, nose, ears, mouth, tongue, teeth, head, hair, back, elbows, fingers, knees, feet, toes, and even her fingernails! Her great uncle jokes that we should teach her the internal organs next, like her esophagus. :)
3. When Maggie wakes up in the morning, even though she calls out for us, she doesn't want to be picked up from her crib. Instead, she likes to show us each of her stuffed animals and walk around the crib a little.
4. Maggie constantly asks to hear music. Even in church she'll say, "more moo-ney" (her word for music).
5. Her favorite numbers are "2" and "8". After we say "1", she'll say "2". Then we'll keep counting to "7", and she'll say "8".
6. Maggie recently completed swimming lessons in a "Mommy & Me" class. Her favorite parts were singing "Ring Around the Rosy" and "Wheels on the Bus" and jumping off the edge (I held her while she jumped).
7. Maggie enjoys playing in her sand table in the backyard. Her favorite thing to do in the sand is make "birthday cakes". When she says "happy", I know she wants me to put a piece of pine straw in her "cake", and then sing "Happy Birthday". When I pause to ask her whose birthday it is, she always says either "Da-da" or "Biscuit".
8. During the day when Maggie asks where Da-da is, I used to tell her "at work". She never said "work", so then I started saying "Duke" (where he works). Now when I ask her "Where's Da-da?", she says "Duke!" That's pretty sad since her dad graduated from State, and I graduated from Carolina.
9. My grandma has a crab apple tree, and Maggie loves to pick crab apples off of the ground. One of her favorite things to do now is to walk around the house with crab apples in her pocketbook and say "more apples!"
10. Maggie likes pocketbooks now. Whenever we leave the house, and I'm carrying her, she always says "book?" and peers around to see if I have my pocketbook on my shoulder.
11. We think Maggie's going to be left-handed. She has always fed herself with her left hand. When she picks up a marker, she uses her right hand sometimes.
12. Maggie enjoys scribbling with markers and sidewalk chalk. She requests these items by saying "dot dot" because the first thing I showed her to do with chalk was make dots on the sidewalk.
13. Elmo and Abby Kadabby from "Sesame Street" are Maggie's favorite characters.
14. I'm running out of ideas, so I'll list some of Maggie's toddler qualities- she hates having her diaper and clothes changed and nap times can be a struggle.
15. If we don't close the bathroom door behind us before giving Maggie a bath, she'll try to scoot out the door and run through the house naked! It's cute, but has the potential to be messy.
16. Maggie's always been an early bird, but lately she's been sleeping a little later . . . later being between 7:00 and 8:00!
