2 Years, 7 Months

10-16-11

As of Sunday, Maggie's now closer to 3 than she is to 2! If you heard her talk, you'd think she's older than that. Lately she has said:

To a little girl on a playground: "Little girl, you're my sister!" (She wanted to pretend like they were sisters as they played together.)

Maggie set up her chairs like a train and told me, "You be the conductor, and I'll be the constructor. What do you want me to fix?"

Tonight as I laid in bed with her, she recounted our whole day's activities from yesterday, in order with many details. Maggie's attentiveness and memory of details is amazing (often better than mine)!

A few of Maggie's accomplishments from the last month are:

-She is doing extremely well on the potty-training front! During waking hours at home and in the neighborhood, she has been pretty much accident free.

-Maggie is beginning to ride her tricycle independently on a flat surface.

-Maggie can now count backwards from 10.

-She's learning her lower-case letters and can name: r, j, w, z, f, k, m, s, d, n, g, i, and u.

-Maggie has cut 3 of her 4 two-year molars. So glad there's only one left to go! We can expect a perfectly-behaved child after that, right?! :)

We've been doing a lot of fall crafts and activities this month . . . finger painting fall leaves, leaf collages, making pumpkin cheesecake, and picking pumpkins. Maggie is getting very excited about wearing her costume on what she calls "Halloween Day". Stay tuned for more pictures!
