Last September we took Maggie's 18 month pictures at Kure Beach:
Since we were in that area at the aquarium last week, I decided to take her 2.5 year pictures there, too. I'm still amazed at how little hair Maggie had last year (well, up until about March or April of this year). Now, if I stretch out one of her bottom curls, it reaches her shoulders! She's very proud of this fact!
Maggie has had some big milestones lately. A few weeks ago she started cutting her bottom right 2-year molar. I'm dreading her cutting the other three for both of our sakes!
She has also slept in her big girl bed every night this week! I was at a church meeting on Monday night, so Brendon put her to bed. She told him she wanted to sleep in her big girl bed, so he tucked her in, and I had to wake her up the next morning at 8:30 to go to the museum! This transition has gone much smoother than when we tried it six months ago.
Maggie has always loved rhyming words, but now she can make her own rhyming words. I'll say a word, and she'll tell me a word that rhymes with it. It's not always a real word, but it still rhymes!
Maggie starts a lot of her sentences now by saying, "I probably . . . " or "Maybe I . . . ", like "I probably would like a popsicle" or "Maybe I want to watch t.v." Maybe she thinks I'll let her have what she wants if she says it so innocently! She's probably right!
On the math front, Maggie can count backwards, starting at 8 and counting down to 1. She's learned this from counting down to "blast off" in her swing.
And what would an update be without some Maggie quotes?
One morning our power went out during a storm. Maggie said, "But I can't see my blue eyes!"
"I want to go barefooting." (barefooted)
(Or maybe she does want to barefoot water-ski like her Uncle Jason and great Uncle Keith!)
After Maggie finished a puzzle, she looked at me and said, "Say, 'proud of you!'"
We passed the store HH Gregg, whose sign is red and has a red circle on it. Maggie said,
"What store is that- Target?"
Maggie does not miss a beat! One day I asked her, "Maggie, do you miss a beat?" and she said, "Nope!"
