28 Months

Today Maggie is 28 months old . . . going on 16 years old it feels like a lot of days! Lately Maggie is very interested in playing grocery store, taking care of her baby dolls, watching the movie Cinderella, and playing with her Cinderella doll.

She has recently learned to stall us. For example, when Brendon leaves for work in the mornings, she runs after him wanting one more hug and a kiss. It's so sweet! At bedtime she also asks for more kisses and usually tells us that she has a secret to tell us. It's always the same "secret": "Birds sing in nests!"


Here are more cute things she's said this month:
-As we were picking blueberries on July 4, she said, "A circle is a blueberry just like your eyes." (We've always told her that her eyes look like blueberries.) As she ate the blueberries at the bushes, she repeatedly said, "My favorite snack... delicious!"

-My mom and I are very close and never argue, but for some reason one day Maggie told us, "Mama, Grandma, you need to be friends!"

-As I was drying Maggie off after her bath, I told her I needed to dry off her chest. She said, "Where's my chest?" I said, "Where your heart is". Maggie said, "Jesus is in my heart!"

-Brendon made a peach cobbler last week. Maggie was having a bowl of it, and I was eating a little of my favorite part- the crust! I said, "Crust or bust!" Maggie laughed and then said, "Crust or bust? Then I hurt." I asked her, "Crust makes you hurt?" She replied, "No, it just makes me happy." Me, too!

-Maggie always listens to music as she falls asleep. I was playing an "Alabama" CD for her. She was almost asleep, but she started singing along to the song "18 Wheeler"! As she drifted off, she sang, "18 wheeler . . . " She's a country girl!

-Maggie looked at Biscuit one day and said, "He's a crazy dog!" I agree.

-Whenever Maggie pretends to go shopping, she says she's either going to Food Lion or Walgreens. She was riding on her little pink car in the house one day and said, "I'm going to Walgreens! You need to tell me good-bye." I said, "Bye, Maggie!" She looked at me and said, "You need to wave your hand!" Maggie always has exact ways that she wants things done!
